Ryan Harris is the proud owner of what has become one Harris & Fox. since opening on Rosemount Viaduct in September last year, the salon has went from strength to strength being finalised in industry awards and boasting a strong team.
Ryan started his working life as a builder at the age of 15, after having enough of the cold weather Ryan decided to put away the trowel and pursue a new career. Having always had a strong interest in hairdressing, at the age of 20 he decided the time is now, and having a good friend who ran a top salon in Galashiels in the Scottish borders this was the perfect place to start the journey.
After flying through training with a lot of late nights and weekends Ryan completed his basic training within 1 year. It was after this Ryan set his sights higher, looking through hair magazines he saw that Tracey Devine from angels aberdeen had won Scottish hair dresser 2 years in a row, and thought you need to learn from the best, so Aberdeen it was.
After moving to Aberdeen Ryan’s skills and confidence improved immensely, during the time there being mentored by Tracey, Ryan gained a place in the very prestigious F.A.M.E team 2012 and travelled around the world doing hair south Africa and San Diego to name a few, during his time at angels Ryan was also short listed finalist as newcomer of the year 2012 at the British hairdressing awards and also Scottish hairdresser of the year 2013.
After his time at angels Ryan went on a six month travel break to plan the future and even ended up cutting hair in Thailand for a while. After the six months he knew what he wanted to do and the next step was definitely opening his own salon. After moving back to Aberdeen he saved enough to renovate and open a salon, in September 2018 harris and fox was born and Ryan is very excited to see what the future holds for him and his team.
